Varying from snowwhite to black and from plain to complicated patterns marble offers a large range of attractive stones. Marble [CaCO₃] is however more difficult to work with than with the previously described stones and often has a granular crystal like structure. In a sculpture using Thasos marble I made use of the white crystalline quality of the stone. Marble is found in many countries: amongst others Italy, France, Greece, Portugal, Spain and Turkey.
